Just wondering how well the standard rear axle would hold up with the power of a 302 ford under normal driving /street use?

Pretty sure that it will hold up for normal driving but they wont take too much abuse, many were broken in the olden days with V6 and V8 conversions and it used to be a common call over the tanoy at the pod and Knebwoth "has anyone got a spare mk3 Zodiac diff?" I managed to break two with my stock engine.

its usually the planet gears that break, but transit planet gears (from removable third member type) will fit. been there, done that.

Have broken 1 diff and 2 half shaffs but they are narrowed and it was the welding that broke and they are 50 years old , I am planning on using a standard axle on the 302 ford v8 I'm using in my z6 estate

Cheers for the reply Mike , Overall it sounds like a fairly tough unit considering its age
