I listened to today's Dutch GP on the BBC. The rain certainly liven things up but I am bemused that they can no longer make decent wet weather tyres. Maybe with health and safety they will never race in really wet conditions again?
Thinking of F1 today reminds me of George Orwell's 1984 where the past has been forgotten (I think 1983 was the best season ever) and the future is being destroyed!

I've never been a fan of F1 and stopped watching it years ago. Your point about tyres translates to road cars. Years ago I had a Skoda Octavia and my boss had an Audi A4,essentially the same car but his had 17 inch wheels, low profile tyres and stiff "performance" suspension. My Skoda had 15 inch wheels, proper tyres and a decent amount of suspension travel, guess which car was faster on the Essex back roads.
