On Wednesday evening a friend gave me a ride out to “Classics in the Walled Garden”. The entry fee for this event was £6 for car and occupants, which seems reasonable. Later this month down the road is another afternoon/evening event “Classics on the Common”. The fee here is £12 but goes up to £17 if you want to park up before the traffic starts building with the skool run, etc. It is also £17 for any car under 26 years old with entry at the organisers’ discretion. I stopped visiting years ago when at their discretion they did not allow my entry but permitted dozens of near new Ferraris, other super cars and limited editions from mainstream manufacturers like Audi. Anyway, what do you think is a fair entry fee? I think £12 and £17 is rather OTT for an outside event (NEC and Excel are rather different) as maintaining and running a classic is often far from cheap. Add time and petrol, and it seems rather a cheek. What do you think?
P.S. On Wednesday I only spotted one Z-car – a Mk II Zodiac.

Yes I'd certainly agree it's a cheek and I doubt you're the only one who gets put off by it so less cars on show means less visitors and a downward spiral eventually surely?
