Hi Martin And welcome, Reg on here has done the swap and it does fit, but as you say pretty close. He has made a lovely job of his car and although he doesn't post on here too often I'm sure he will give you a few pointers. Joe

Hi Reg, I'm having some issues with clearance with steering box and exhaust manifold, however iv fitted rover p5 B manifolds and they clear everything , almost look they were made for the job , I'm now on issues with sump pan as the p6 is back to front , wouldn't be a problem if you could turn it around so I'm making one from alloy sheet , I've mocked one in steel for now , are you running manual or auto box ? And what other problems did you experience ? regards martin,

Hi martin my engine came from p5b with bw35 auto box had to remove 8inch sq aprox from tunnel to clear gear linkage.I used p5 sump with front bowl and cut to suit A mate of mine made headers which come forward and under the engine leaving loads of room. You must sit engine as low as poss to clear bonnet.

Hello Reg, Thanks for the info, I'm using BW35 ford auto box with matching torque converter mated to p6 bellhousing so no need to cut trans tunnel as it uses A cable shift and also the prop slides into the tail shaft , just need to extend it by about 4 inches , the engine sits nice and low in the bay and misses almost everything Apart from the hand brake pully wheel and the lever on the cross member , so I'm moving the lever over an inch and modifying it to clear the starter but should still Work as its suppose to , I hope , had to do away with engine mounts on cross member and made new mounts to bolt to chassis rails , these sit just in front of the Crossmember which has been braced , had to do it this way as I'm using p6 mounts and they sit forward of the engine , will keep you posted on any further devolpment Regards martin.
