Hi Nigel- Welcome. Is your clutch slave working OK?

Doubt if your clutch fork is worn, but anything is possible considering the age of these cars.
The clutch slave cylinder definitely needs to be checked to see that it is working OK. If it is sticking and not fully releasing when you release the clutch pedal, the clutch can slip and appear to be worn.
You may have air in the clutch system and the clutch requires bleeding to remove this air. I would bleed the clutch and make sure there is no air in the clutch fluid system and then check underneath the car when someone else is depressing the clutch pedal to see if the clutch fork is working in tandem with the clutch pedal and releasing when the pedal is released.
It's also possible that there may be too much slack between the clutch push rod that operates the clutch slave cylinder and the slave cylinder itself. The push rod can be adjusted to remove this slack if this is the case.
You have mentioned something about the clutch being 50% on which suggests to me that the clutch pedal isn't fully releasing. Something in the clutch pedal is sticking, it should return to the top of its travel irrespective of what is happening in the clutch itself. This also suggests the slave cylinder may be sticking and not allowing/assisting the return of the clutch pedal.
But.... if everything is in good working order underneath the car and your clutch is slipping in any way when there is no pressure on the clutch pedal, the clutch plate is most likely worn and in need of replacement

A possible, but unlikely, cause of clutch problems can be burrs where the clutch plates fit over the splines. If the car has stood for a long time rust in this area can give the same effect. I have only seen this once – easily sorted but puzzling at the time!
