Hi Richard, back in the days of yore in the Hemel Hempstead area a local car dealer bought quite a few ex MOD left hand drive Zephyr 4s and they were quite popular amongst the local Teds (as they looked American and were LHD and were cheap) I fact the first car I ever went to buy was one of them. If I remember correctly they were mostly early cars and had orange indicator lenses and Austin side lights on top of the wings. Always wondered if any were left, Glad to hear that at least one survives.

A friend's Zodiac drivers door fell apart internally and he brought a replacement from an ex MOD (Z4) one that was being broken - it had hardly been used and outlived the car. With wings having been replaced his was the "car of many colours".
When I was around nineteen a local dealer had a LHD Opel Kapitan that had broken down whilst the owner was holidaying in the UK. Having fixed it he put it up for sale. Whilst I was interested my insurance company did not want to know as it was LHD. I only had about six months driving experience at the time having owned a scooter/sports moped/mororcycle since my sixteenth birthday.
