Well spotted, the seat covers are not the original ones and appear to have been recovered in the past, not the best of jobs to be bonest. Also I noticed there are no centre armrests, did the Police not have them ?
I guess over the years people change stuff ?
All the additional wiring is in place plus an extra Police fuse box for the additional equipment. The car also has an alternator, I'm told that's correct for Police cars.

Door trims are early type too - 62 or 63.

Your right, I noticed that as well but my point about not having armrests is wrong because they are there. I should have gone to Spec Savers !!
Anyway, going to start stripping the old girl out the weekend and will change anything thats not supposed to be there. Body needs a lot of work, boot floor is hanging ......oh dear looks like hours of welding

Hi, Absolutely fascinated with this topic,my experience with police cars,is only getting stopped by them(never a Zephyr and I did buy a dodgy HC Viva once, light blue with a zip in the headling!!) I'm intrigued with the mods to the dash of the car, I thought they would have just put an additional, calibrated, speedo in the car and be done with it,obviously not ? Looking fwd to the next installment Should be a nice car ,well done. DR

Interestingly the zephyr police car at Goodwood revival when I went the year before last did not have the centre speedo.
