When I was at Santa Pod for the Classic Ford Show I picked up a "Whats On" type guide. The thing that stood out was that on some days you are charged extra for arriving in a Brand X car. For instance the Jap Show is £5 per person extra if you arrive in a non-Jap car. I had thought of going as a friend used to own a Honda S800 (boy did that rev!) and another has a Honda S2000. I am not a big fan of most Japanese cars and with that sort of attitude I will not be going!

That's appalling. Where will that attitude to the paying punter end, Whats next? If you arrive in a 70's car you must wear flares and platform shoes....

I agree....in a recession like were in everyones money is the same colour.
Have not been to the pod for ages.....87 world finals in fact. Great racing but VERY poor toilet arrangements. ie: open dug out pit in the ground !

I first went to the Pod in the mid-seventies. The grimness of the toilets struck me as they were worse than Silverstone that was not much better back then. Even today the toilets, and everything else there, has no feeling of permanence. The bar is little more than a modified shipping container! I do wonder where the money goes as admission to Classic Ford was not cheap, £18 per person, and there were thousands there. There is something on most weekends there so the turnover must be huge. As when Mum was in a nursing home in her final years - very high fees yet underpaid staff and fairly unimpressive food (there was a very low spend per person per day) – where did the money go?

Could'nt agree more ...I got fed up with the place when they 1st built a grandstand and wanted to charge a fair whack for those who wanted a seat to watch the racing....I went to the jap show many years ago when i built this and havent been back since even tho i now live less than 20 miles from it.
