Greetings from Co. Cork in Ireland. I'm originally from the UK, moving out here several years ago. I own a '66 Zodiac Executive that I'd describe as 'not perfect' but pretty good condition. Only acquired this a few weeks ago and got reams of paperwork with it. Car was imported from Scotland 3 years ago. Original logbook shows it was registered as MYN 229D in Surrey on 29th April 1996. I had a couple of these cars back in the '70s and a Zephyr 6 for a time as well and never thought I'd be able to get hold of one that wasn't a rust bucket again! It all brings back a few happy memories. Best wishes to all

Hi Mick. classic insurance here isn't bad at all, 240 euro fully comp with FBD on a restricted mileage of 5000k per annum and road tax is 52 euro a year. The one surprising thing is that as its classed as 'vintage/veteran the Zodie is nct (our mot) except. I have a mate with a NSU RO80 with original twin rotor engine and a 1916 Model T runabout 4 seater, both running, so between us the mileage restriction on insurance doesn't mean much! The one thing I am going to have a problem with eventually is sourcing tyres, at the moment its running on 185R13 commercials, bit harsh but the right diameter so the speedos correct...or as correct as a Ford speedo ever was. I have a lead to a guy in a place called Clonakilty about 50 miles away so I'll have a drive over and have a chat with him whn the weathers good.

Hi Anthony, Welcome abord. I have a 65 Zodiac Mk3 and an 64 Zephyr 4 Mk3 ( both original Irish cars). Im in Kildare, Originally a Dub, Married a Woman from west Cork... for my sins. I am running the Zodiac on Crossplies to original spec ( the guy I got it off years ago does tyres - he has an 62 Zephyr 4 (Roscommon reg) and a couple of model Ts and stuff) he gets the crossplies in from time to time - when there is enough interest, keep in touch and lets know what you need, - I'll hook yez up. Am up and down to Cork all the time ( usually stray around Kinsale. ) So if you need anything brought up or down , let me know, Cheers, Paul.

Thanks for that Paul, I live about 5 miles north of Macroom so if you are ever coming through this way maybe we can meet up sometime. The Millstreet show was on last Monday but due to double booking apparently at Noel C's showground it was moved to the old burnt out manor house outside the town, not the best place in the world! I didn't bother to go as it was pretty wet and miserable here but a friend of mine did and spotted just one big Ford...a '64 Zodie which he reckoned had the dreaded tinworm around the A post at windscreen height. Mind you, having run a scrapyard until the council shut him down he does tend to still go round looking for things like that..... Regards. Tony
