I dont know what reminded me about this but I think I'll share it anyway. Twenty or so years ago I was living on a boat in the London area. I was moored at the bottom of the River Lee and was woken in the morning by the sound of a small outboard motor running flat out but going slowly. This usualy means that someone is moving a large boat with a small engine and this is normaly a souce of amusement. I stuck my head out of the hatch and was not dissapointed for round the bend in the river came a Zephyr 4! it was floating on oil drums in the wheel arches and was being powered by a Seagull out board (for those not in the know a Seagull is a pretty dated but still common type of outboard, very noisy and unreliable) It dissapeared into the nearby Springfield Marina and I was later told that it was for a sketch in a sitcom of some kind. Did anyone see the sitcom?
