G'day all, I am having a bit of trouble cracking my paint code! 62 mk3 and its a nice baby blue. I'm about to touch up my engine bay before putting the windsor in. It's australian plated and has a a22 paint code. Can anyone help with a name for this colour or a reference for the code?cheers if anyone can help

Hi Mack (or should I say G'day) Are you sure about the paint code as the Dagenham built cars have the paint code as two letters

Hi Mackenzie2, i've both early & late parts books & paint codes are in letters only, but looking at the a22 code, that could be part of the interior trim code, A522 is for a Zephyr saloon with RAYON CLOTH, 3 shades of green made from febuary 62 -august 63, A822 is for a Zodiac leather, 3 shades of Beige from august 63. hope this is helpfull

G'day, thanks ,the code is straight off the Australian I'd plate on the top of the drivers suspension tower! I suspect it's an Aussie colour and also after a little research think it might be a split code ie a for roof colour and 22 for main body colour.all a mystery at the moment

Hi I am not familiar with Australian Ford paint codes but they might be the same as the Falcon. The following link will take you to a site that may be of assistance. A22 would suggest it has an Arctic White roof with a Bermuda Blue body On the other hand, after reading your post, if the car was made in 1962, it could have a Merino White roof and a Gambia Blue body; the above was for a 1964 car. australian ford paint codes
