While sorting through a box of junk the other day I came across this. The model was sold in the late seventys as the Night Prowler street machine and had a seventies jackup, huge wheels and a rather naff spoiler. I baught a few of them and tried out various custom ideas. This is the only one I have left and was converted to radio control, unfortunatly I lost control round a bend and it fell off the coffee table! hence its current state. I will probably restore it once I have found a suitable doner car for the mechanicals (and can find the time) has any one else got one? Attachments:

Yes it was made by Airfix, it was a seventies kit of a custom car called Night Prowler(I think it was part of a series and probably based on an earlier standard model) there were three or four in the series. I seem to remember a MK 1 Cortina and Capri as well. I wiish I had bought more as they would be probably worth a few bob now!

I didn't realise we had a few keen modellers besides myself in here ....maybe you'd all fancy a model section in the forum. Let me know what you think folks ?

Mick i think that would not be a bad idea i have hundreds of coaches but only 3 zodiacs 2 airfix kits that restored and also a Crossway Mk 3 they are extremeley costly for a model but they did paint the interior to my own spec , fit white walls on and produce plates to your request

I enjoy the model kit making but never seem to get enough time. I mainly make the american stuff and whilst i'd like to get an old airfix mk3 at some point i can remember the time when you could buy a complete real zodiac for what these kits now go for so begrudge parting with that much cash for one..... maybe i'm just tight ;D

I had a particular interest in this model as the guy from Crossways took details and measurements from the rear of my Ambassador Blue Zodiac (when it was being shown at the NEC) before it went into production. When i saw the final model for sale there was something not quite right about it - the shape? so i gave it a body swerve Arthur

I've never seen one of these models in the flesh but from the pics I agree with Mick. Here I put my anorak on and say--- I think that the bonnet and scuttle are too long, the front panel/grille should be slightly raked, the hubcaps are too large for the wheels and there also seems to be a disparity betweeen the front and rear doors. But hey! thank goodness someone still makes Zodiacs
