The brake pedal is harder because the diameter of the piston and rubber seal is probably bigger, thus now you need more pressure to shift the fluid, best check the diameters as years ago I had the same problem on a Ford Anglia 100E, I fitted a slightly larger bore master cylinder as I had a spare one off a 105E, had to get the right part in the end, Col.

Could you not change the whole servo and master cyl to a Capri or escort,, just check any of the later fords

an old topic but; a mercedez 124 servo with master cylinder can be fitted with small modifications. Maked an enourmos difference!
