Classic Ford 2014

I picked up a Santa Pod events guide yesterday. This year Classic Ford is on the Sunday 1st June. Although not to many Z cars attend I always find plenty of interest. The link is:- www.classicfordshow.co.uk/ Anyone else thinking of going?

Adamski,, we will be parked in the pits most of the day,, wander round and say hi... There are quite a few of my mates doing demo runs this year,, v8 anglia,, v8 Capri ,,v8mk4 cortina

i'd sooner go to the billing run,the classic ford show has too many later fords(xr3's n cosworths for my liking

Dan,, if we all went elsewhere every time a few tesco car park type cars turn up, they would take over the scene totally,,I go to classic ford simply to race not to look at front wheel drive boxes and to be very honest I can't see how any of them qualify as classics.. Last year there were stands with brand new focus on them,,wtf

XR3s are 30 years old so are classics in my opinion. (And I do like them because I owned one in the late 80s).

I was taking my Zodiac to classic events when it was far younger than that.

Xr3 and early fiestas are definitely classics,, but I don't think you can say the same of almost any shopping car from ford or any other mainstream producer that is made within the last twenty years,, on display in recent years I have seen brand new fiat 500,, BMW one series,,quite a lot of focus models etc etc etc,, they may be their owners pride and joy, but classics they ain't ,,each and every person has an idea in their head of what is definitely a classic,, and also what could be perhaps termed classic,, but going to a classic car show and seeing the same model cars that you could have seen in your local supermarket car park isn't right in my opinion...I went the enfield pageant yesterday and saw countless cars younger than 15 years including a Volvo estate, fiat500 ,,,,, but this is an argument that has run for years and I doubt it will ever be resolved

Five day forecast is a mixed bag. It suggests that Sunday will start bright but cloudy with showers then light rain arriving in the afternoon. Hopefully ir will stay fairly dry I until everyone is on their way home.

Defining a "classic" is impossible. However when recent events I have visited have allowed two year old cars I can see in a showroom it is taking the p*ss! I know one of the events (sort of) enforced a 25 y.o. rule and did not allow some genuinely interesting cars just under this age to enter.

Didn't get round to chatting to you but saw your run and they car zephyrc. 9.4 I think, happy with that?

The only mk3 zephyr their as well, which was a shame.

Yes fairly happy. First real runs this year,,9.4 at 147... Want to get 150 mph this year...thanks for the photo

Same here as well unfortunately. We queued for about 90 minutes to get in and saw you leaving after we saw the monster truck in the arena. Did see you on the strip though. It took nearly as long to get out and with the M1 I think I spent longer queuing than at the show!

Think we may have met a decade or more ago. Were you running it with V8 back then? Think it was Billing...
