Dear All, I'm Arthur, many of the MK3 fraternity will know me from my 5 years as events and regalia secretary for the Club. As with all things voluntary suggestions are always welcome and this forum is testament to that fact. The originator of this forum recently came into the MK3 world and thought it a good idea to start a forum for MK3 owners. This was put to the chairman and committee members of the club less than a week ago and the rest they say is history. A similar thing happened to me by suggesting we try to get 50 or more Zephyrs and Zodiacs to the All Ford Rally at Gaydon and i seem to have been co-opted on to the events side of things to make this happen. This is a plea to all MK3 owners to step forward and make next years 50th Anniversary for the Club a roaring success by committing to attend the All Ford Rally at Gaydon in 2012. I'm sure we can easily achieve this target and i look forward to seeing scenes not seen since the eighties at the Bluebell Railway. If you aren't a Club member already now is the time to join. Bye for now Arthur

*Update*. I met the Organiser of the All Ford Rally at Gaydon and members of our Club Committee on Saturday at the NEC Classic Car Show. All to a man are fully behind our endeavour to get at least 50 Zephyrs and Zodiacs to the All Ford Rally next year. www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/event/old-ford-rally-3/ We have been promised pride of place on the "grassy knoll" in front of the main building. The less grass we can see on our stand the better as far as i'm concerned. There was a lot of interest shown from members visiting the club stand at the NEC and i look forward to all your support. Everyone with a MK3 is welcome be it standard or modified, customised or sky blue pink; i may draw the line at yellow dots ;D As soon as i have the entry forms i'll let you know the procedure for entering. However i can reveal that £5 entry fee is going to get your car, it's driver and three passengers in to the venue and not only that it will allow free entry in to the museum at Gaydon. If you haven't already please add your name to the list on this thread. Be there or be square Arthur

Hi to everyone, within the next few days all current Club members should have received their latest Club magazine complete with the entry form for our 50th anniversary event to be held at The Heritage Museum, Gaydon on 22nd July. I urge you all to send in your entries as soon as you can to show the organisers of the Old Ford Rally that we mean business. A 50 car minimum stand is a big ask for all MK3 owners and i'm banking on you all to come good on the day. I have attached an entry form to this post so any and all non Club members on this forum can join in the celebration and you will be made very welcome. If you only go to one show in this our 50th anniversary year then please make it this one. Arthur ps. when printing your form please try to keep it on one sheet if possible - alternatively, staple them together Read more: ukmk3zephyrzodiac.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=50thanniversarymeeting&thread=183&page=1#ixzz1lKvLT3Xl

A few more have entered since the last count up , hope we get the weather we've been having of late ....might be a good idea to post wanted ads for any parts you require and meet up on the day to save postage. I believe Steve the club spares guy is going to so don't forget to place your parts orders with him to do likewise. Remember folks , the first 50 get there entry fee back via the club so be quick for the last spaces of what is the biggest mk3 meet for many years.

Also i've just heard today that Classic Car Buyer weekly paper is doing a spread for the event with a mention for us in the next edition and i believe Classic Cars For Sale magazine is doing a feature on Mk3's next month (sic). Looking more and more likely we will top the desired 50 Arthur

Classic Car Buyers article duly appeared with a leader on the front page and a communal mention of the Old Ford Rally, Cortina Owners Club and our Z-Cars inside. It seems the Cortinas have brought their anniversary forward from the September they were introduced

Have sent off the form and if the car is back together with an mot, will be there. Hasn't run on the road since Bluebell so it will not notice the difference in numbers.

When do they send the tickets etc out. Just spoke to Bob wilkinson and he said they will be out 10 days before the show. Didn't realise he only lives 5 miles down the road from me lol.

Same scenario about 7-10 days before the event. However, unlike Gaydon, the Tatton organisers send them to the club first and we send them on to the members. Arthur
