Hi everyone
I’m currently joining the club. I’ve been a member before and followed in my fathers footsteps a# he was also a member many years ago. I have had many different cars but MK3’s are the love of my life and have been since I can remember. I am looking for a MK3 Zodiac, I currently have a 1976 Corvette Stingray which is on eBay at the moment. I can’t wait to get back going to shows and meets. My ultimate goal is a Hooper and always has been. Anyway, can’t wait to see you all and get involved.

Hello David, had a quick nose on ebay for the Corvette but not sure which one is yours.....in any case I will offer you an unconditional straight swap for my rusty Zephyr 4 if you like!
Do we know how many cars Hooper converted and how many are still alive?

Allegedly 13 Zodiacs were converted by Hooper. One was on the road a few years ago and there were rumours of another undergoing restoration. At a guess I would say only two or three exist...

I know of one undergoing restoration, nearly finished I believe. I have seen another many years ago at a club event.

Yes, I remember seeing a couple before I was in my teens at club events at Horsted Keynes Railway, I have a feeling one was gold and one was white. I didn’t realise they were THAT rare. Do you think the one being restored will come up for sale? That would be a dream come true but probably come down to who has the most cash. Just to see it would be amazing though.

Hi fordfixer, I had to resist the Corvette TWICE after being suddenly dying when it came to payment. I did have a Zephyr 4 estate some years ago, I bought it in Liverpool (boy what a day that was!) I appreciate the offer but really want a Zodiac. I’d like to see some pictures though. Does anyone know what happened too the OOO Zephyr 4? Light blue. I know the lady owner liked my dads spruce green zephyr 6. Actually does anyone know what happened to that? I sold it to a chap in Sherborne when I was 18 (big mistake) reg was CJH836B.

According to the DVLA vehicle enquiry site, CJH 836B was last taxed in August 1991........

Yes, that would have been my father. Funnily enough, I think the chap that bought it in Sherborne was called Stephen. He also bought my other Zephyr 6 which was Fords test bed. Years later I bumped into a chap at Beaulieu auto jumble that had the engine out of it before I had bought the car. He is the chap that had/has the black Zodiac estate that was featured in Practical Classics many years ago. Anyone know where that ca4 is now?
