HI does anyone know the difference between mk2 + mk3 front struts,,,everything has a part number for correct ID does anyone know what should be stamped on a mk3 strut ??Has anyone fitted/try to fit mk2 struts to a mk3 or visa versa??

I do not know the details but suspect they are not interchangeable as the Mk II is a taller car. There were also a lot of changes such as the angle of the strut to improve handling and reduce the wheel wobble that afflicted the Mk II...

HI Yes I know there r differences,the struts have numbers stamped on them but not 206e or 213e etc I don't tnink I could tell the difference by looking at them without a reference of how there numbered for what model, I've looked on newford spares web site and they do look very similar thanking you tom

From another forum:- Mk3 struts don't fit Mk2s because the bolt holes at top are different, the brake calapers are fitted to front instead of rear and also wheel bearings are different! You can use brake discs but that is about it. Obviously the reverse applies...
